Itinerary: Two and three-day
cruises in September from Northport, Michigan through Lake Michigan. The itinerary
is not pre-set and is based on how the wind is blowing. Typical anchorages
are at Beaver Island, Suttons Bay, Power Island, and undeveloped
Manitou islands. There are also half-day sails from Traverse City, Michigan, and at
night the vessel can be used as Floating Bed &
Breakfast.
Cabins: 12. Cabins have
upper and lower bunks. There is no running water in the cabins. Marine-style
toilets and showers are on deck. There is no maid service.
Facilities and Activities:
This is a two-masted gaff-rigged topsail schooner. A wood stove is
used for cooking (including fresh baked goods) and heating water for showers. Alcoholic beverages my be pre-ordered and stocked board. Under sail, the activities are mostly reading, talking
or sleeping. There are no deck chairs. Sea kayaks are on board.
Minimum age for passengers is 16. The ship is reported to sail 6 to 10 hours per day. A music cruise features
a well-known Great Lakes folk singer. An astronomy cruise
is also offered.
