My wife and I just completed a trip to the Galapagos islands on board
the
Galapagos Explorer II (formerly the Renaissance III). We had
a great
time - the uislands were wonderful and the cruise ship was elegant.
One
thing bothered us - we were told when we came on board that nothing
- not
even toilet paper could be flushed down the toilets - it would clog
the
syetm. There were signs iin the bathroom of every room to the
same
effect. A pail with a plastic liner was present next to the bowl
in
every room for depositing the used toilet paper........this was, to
say
the least, VERY UNPLEASANT!!!! Is the ship really that poorly
built? Or
is there something else going on........I am very reluctant to ever
go on
another ship of this class (all the Renaissance ships in particular)
if
the waste disposal system is really that poor. Can you help clarify
this
question??? Thankl you - Bob and Sue W.
