• Itinerary: The Island Passage cruises Auckland & Marlborough Sounds, New Zealand.  Six-night Vanuatu, South Pacific, Bali Hai cruise. Five-night New Zealand cruises from Auckland to explore the islands of Hauraki Gulf Marine Park, including remote villages on Great Barrier Island, Kawau Island, and  Waiheke Island. Hauraki Gulf Marine Park was established in 1967 to preserve some 47 islands in their natural state, protecting the unspoiled vegetation and providing a haven for the animal and bird life on them.
  Vanuatu five-night cruises go from Santo to explore the tropical islands of Vanuatu, visit remote villages, view land diving at Pentecost, Rom dancing on Ambryn, Champagne Beach and other remote islands. Two different five-night cruises can be combined with two nights on shore between the cruises.

• Cabins: 10.  Six cabins have balconies and either king, queen or twin beds and TV, DVD, CD.  Four cabins with a porthole, have either a queen-size bed or two or three single beds. All are air-conditioned and have private bath with shower. Most have doors opening onto the outer deck.

• Dress: Smart casual.

• Facilities: The ship carries a 6-seat twin-engine helicopter onboard for sightseeing, heli-fishing or transfers to vineyards, golf courses and other local activities. There are 4 expedition boats onboard for landing guests ashore and sightseeing trips. Several bush walks are offered that show the fauna and wildlife at ports of call. The ship has a large aft deck for alfresco dining and barbeque. Language spoken is predominantly English.  There is an open bridge policy.

• Fares Recently Reported: For five nights, $NZ or AUD 2,975 to $3,950 per person double occupancy. Whole ship New Zealand charter for 22 guests is $NZ or AUD 70,000 for 5 nights. Fare includes use of all excursion boats, fishing equipment and shore landings. Additional charges for helicopter charters and guided walks. Some single cabins. Book 6 months ahead save $500.
