- Itinerary:
The World circles the globe, with a different itinerary
each year chosen according to the wishes of the residents who own
their cabins. The ship circles the glove once every two to
three years. The continuous world journeys often havae two days in
port or moroe.
- Cabins:
165. Residences range from studios to one, two, or three
bedroom units and one penthouse suite with six bedrooms. Each unit
is owned privately in a condo-like arrangement, with a maintenance
fee in addition to the cost of the unit. Units can be decorated by
owners. Rentals are available for voyage segments. All cabins are outside and
most have balconies.
- Dining: There are
four restaurants plus you can cook in your own unit. Special diets are accommodated.
- Facilities and Activities:
The World is owned by 130 families from 19 countries. Residents spend an
average of four months on board every year. There are 12 decks.
There are two pools, a fitness
room, spa, hairdresser, movie
theater, library, and a
business center with internet service. There is a medical facility
with a doctor and a nurse. There are guest speakers, a golf simulator,
putting green, tennis court, paddle tennis court, and a retractable
marina for water sports. There is a youth program from June to
August. There are classes in dance, navigation, language, cooking,
arts and crafts, music, computers and photography.
